H e y t h e r e ! I ’ m V i c t o r i a ,
I am a documentary filmmaker with a fervent appetite for visual storytelling and motion graphics.
I hail from the exotic faraway land of Russia, where people never smile at strangers and where it only gets warm in summer.
Throughout my journalism career, I have worked with various mediums (web, print, and radio) but became fascinated by experiments with more visual forms of storytelling and transitioned to video and animation (and never looked back!)
I received my BA in Video Journalism from the Russian State University for the Humanities, and a Master’s in short-form video from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, where I also learned the basics of animation.
When I’m not out and about filming, I go on long photo walks around San Francisco taking photos on my film camera of everything I see on my way, connect with people and animals (especially cats), and binge-watch animated tv shows. I’m inspired by unexpected color combinations, unusual shapes, and subtle visual metaphors.
I am open to opportunities that would allow me to execute my creative vision and tell visual stories about pressing societal problems and people who are trying to do something about it.
I am always happy to collaborate or just connect with new people, so if you want to chat, you can find me at victoriadmitr@gmail.com or just shoot me a message on instagram!
